What residential painting does DMG do?

DMG Painting & Decorating paints houses, units, townhouses and apartments across Adelaide, inside and out. That includes whole-house repaints, single rooms, ceilings, feature walls, doors and trims, exteriors, fences, and the quick tidy repaint a rental or a home going to market needs.

The business is small and owner-run. Damien quotes the job in person, sets out what is included in writing, and the same faces are on site from the first day to the final walkthrough. Furniture is covered, floors are protected, and the house is cleaned up at the end of every day.

How much does it cost to paint a house in Adelaide?

It depends on the size of the house, the condition of the surfaces, how many colours are involved and whether the exterior is included, so DMG quotes every job individually and in writing after seeing it. Quotes are free and carry no obligation. What you will not get is a price that changes once the job has started, unless you change the scope.

Can you help choose colours?

Yes. Damien advises on colours and finishes at the quote visit, brings sample pots on request and will paint test patches on the wall so you can see a colour in your own light before committing. Clients regularly mention this advice in their reviews.

How a DMG residential painting job runs

  1. Quote

Damien visits, looks at every surface, talks colours and finishes, and sends a written quote with scope, products, and start and finish dates. Free, no obligation.

  2. Prep

The part you are paying for. Furniture covered, floors sheeted, edges masked. Walls washed, filled, sanded and dusted. Outside, everything is scraped back to a sound edge.

  3. Prime and cut in

Bare patches and repairs are primed so the topcoat sits evenly. Every edge, corner and ceiling line is cut in by brush before a roller touches the wall.

  4. Two coats

Rolled on with a wet edge so there are no lap marks, left to dry properly, then a second full coat. Two coats is the standard, not an extra.

  5. Walkthrough

You walk the job with Damien in daylight. Anything you spot is touched up on the spot. Tape comes off, sheets come up, and the site is left clean.

Residential painting questions

Can we stay in the house while you paint?

Yes. Most clients do. DMG works room by room, keeps walkways clear and uses low-odour water-based paints inside, so the house stays usable throughout.

Are you insured for work in my home?

Yes. DMG Painting & Decorating is fully licensed (BLD 281822) and insured, and the team holds current safety certificates.

Do you do small jobs like a single ceiling or a hallway?

Yes. No job too big or too small. Single rooms and touch-ups are quoted the same way as a full house.
